OO writer and calc are really fine.īut OO base turned out to be heavily disappointing. I'm working with open Source OS and Apps for a decade now with quite positive experience. Report builder turned out to be a nightmare for me. Maybe I'll try it again in a couple of months when a new release will come, or not. No, it's just unstable, so unstable I just can't use it. I tried plenty of stuff, reinstall the extension, quit and restart, change parameters. ok, let's do exactly the same report than the first try, same table, same columns, no sort, no group, no filter. I Tried again a simple report of the table, the same kind of report I've done before that worked. So I tried to make one a bit more complex. 5 columns, no sort, no group, no filter.). I used the wizard to create a report (the simplest one, all columns from the table, i.e. One OpenOffice base contains several tables. Oracle Report Builder is just not stable enough. Some extensions are at the same level, some not. OpenOffice is a great product, I reckon it's way better than some expensive ones. I wondered if this information could still help one of you folks !! Ok, all this is a shortcut to what I really experienced: BUT IT WORKS. Instead, I'll explain what I did last:ġ) I have uninstalled AOO4.1.5 completely.Ģ) I have removed all directories being used by OpenOffice in the main directories but also under USERSģ) I have reinstalled latest JAVA programsĥ) I reinstalled AOO4.1.5 and all my extensions (OXT)Ħ) Due to "basic" errors because I use Java calls I reinserted the name of the DB in AOO DB options under database paths

I have done many searches and manipulations I don't really want to explain here to bother you.

As far as my macros were concerned, everything just worked fine, but i realized a bit later that my reports could no longer work. I have been in panic thinking I would lose hours of work on my database.Īt first I installed the latest OOO version 4.1.5. But I think it is still interesting to know what I did to make it work. I know, it's a bit late as opposed to this previous message. I am using AOO4.1.5 under Windows 7 and specifically Oracle-Report-Builder.oxt
